Free NY CDL Tanker Vehicles Practice Test 2024
Aspiring commercial drivers must pass the NY CDL tanker tests to drive tankers, which have some unique handling and safety requirements. It is not easy to handle such vehicles; special training is required. The Tank Vehicle (N) endorsement is added to your class A, class B or class C CDL and it is required for operating vehicles that transport significant quantities of liquids or gases. In New York, students may obtain other endorsements as well, including Hazardous Materials (H) and Double and Triple Trailers (T).
With a tank (N) endorsement, you are allowed to transport liquids or gases in tanks individually rated at 119 gallons or more, or with a combined capacity of 1,000 gallons or more. Since you’ll be carrying such a high load, it is crucial that you master the controls of heavy vehicles and take safety measures that prevent accidents from happening. Drivers might also want to pursue a hazmat (H) endorsement since hazardous materials are frequently transported in liquid form.
Students have to go through 2 different tests. One of them evaluates their knowledge in a written format while the other one places them behind the wheel of an actual tanker, where theory is put into practice. Our CDL tanker endorsement practice tests are a great place to start since they help you get an idea about the official exam and the questions you can expect.
Each of these practice tests features 20 questions based on the official 2024 CDL manual (https://commackpl.driving-tests.org/new-york/ny-cdl-handbook/). These questions have multiple answer options, but only one of them is correct. To pass, you must get 16 correct answers, which is roughly 80% of the entire test. Unlike the actual exam, there is no time limit for this practice test, which lets you take as long as you need before you submit an answer.
When you do so, immediate feedback is provided with a detailed explanation. This feature allows students to understand their mistakes and study the specific areas where they lack extensive knowledge. Additionally, you can further prepare for this endorsement with our specialized tanker endorsement test collection, which features a comprehensive guide and viable alternatives for all 50 US states plus Washington, DC.
