Free New York CDL Metal Coil Endorsement Practice Test 2024

You need a New York State commercial driver license (CDL) with a metal coil endorsement (M) if you drive a Commercial Motor Vehicle (CMV) and transport 5,000 or more pounds of metal coil. A metal coil is any product made of a metal that is bulk packaged or packaged as a roll, coil, spool, wind, or wrap. To qualify for the Metal Coil endorsement, you must hold a Class A, B, or C license and pass a written metal coil knowledge test. The new endorsement will be identified as the code "M" on the endorsement section of your license. The metal coil knowledge test is based on the material presented in the New York Driver's Manual for the Safe Securement of Metal Coils and Other Cargo. At the test site, you'll be given a copy of the Working Load Limit Table to use when answering the questions. On the Metal Coil knowledge test, you'll get 20 multiple-choice questions. This practice test is designed to help you prepare for the actual test. Each question is multiple choice. Once you have answered all of the questions, a score will be provided and you will have the option to review each question and the correct answer.
  • Perfect for first-time and renewal CDL/CLP applicants, and those adding endorsements
